United Kingdom.

I had to get myself to London during my exchange term just to experience life in one of the world’s most important cities.

All around London, you can find new and old buildings next to each other. The Westminster Abbey was just as breathtaking as the Shard.

The Natural History Museum was on my list of places to go and I was not disappointed. Attaching the Darwin Centre to the original building, once again old and new were contrasted to create beauty.

Although expensive, food in London was pretty good. Fish and chips were served with a tangy tartar sauce and ketchup, while Flat Iron served a tender and juicy flat iron steak.

After a brief stop at Harry Potter’s Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross, I ventured out to see the Gasholders and Coal Drops Yard. The retrofit of both sites to now provide residential and retail space was innovative and fascinating to see.

The British Library was quiet and filled with people reading, studying, and researching. The materials, tall columns, and sharp corners made the building feel powerful upon entry.
